Badlands, Wind Cave, and Mt. Rushmore

Today was a long but very enjoyable day. We hit most of the major sites South Dakota has to offer.

The badlands are like nothing I have ever seen. The pictures I hope can explain how different the landscape is versus most anywhere I've been. After running around the badlands we went to Wall Drug and also enjoyed a Fat Tire beer & a few slices of pizza at the badlands bar.

Wind Cave National Park is the 4th largest cave in the world. It also has a specific rock formation on the walls an ceilings called "box formations" which are quite different then stalactites and stalagmites commonly seen in most caves.

Mount Rushmore is, well, Mount Rushmore. Very interesting to see in person for the first time.

We finished off the night in Rapid City at the Fire House Brewing Company for Bison Burgers & Firehouse Red Beer.

awesome pictures and descriptions. Kyle, can the Badlands part of the trip be a tax right-off b/c of all the geology science stuff? You guys should have checked your cholesterol before leaving NJ and then after this lo-cal trip. Can u tell I am envious? Enjoy.

Always good to end a day with a beer and some bison!
