Borders Meetup

Just hours before the LOST series finale, Kyle and I meet to hammer-out a rough draft of our trip with the help of some free wifi and books, complements of Borders. On a shared Google Map we've plotted no less than a 23 state trip! Scroll around the interactive map at the top of the page to see our main stops and general direction.

The trip will bring us counter-clockwise around the country; the first leg has been named "The Westward Expansion". We'll follow the Oregon Trail through Chicago for Deep Dish Pizza, to Wisconsin for some cheese, West to South Dakota for a Mount Rushmore 4th of July, then Yellowstone park in Montana, and a hot cup of Seattle's Best Coffee... in Seattle-- ok, maybe some Starbucks too, but only to see if it tastes just as burnt in its hometown =). From here we'll head South on "The Gold Rush" following the Pacific Coast. First stop: Portland, Oregon, after we'll jump on the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) to our second stop, San Francisco for the Golden Gate bridge, Alcatraz and other touristy endeavors. Couple days later we'll hit the PCH again on our way to LA. The final leg of our 24 day, 23 state Journey starts in Las Vegas where we'll meet up with two friends for our rendition of The Hangover. After our good-bye's and plenty of water to rehydrate we'll get on our way home first hitting the Grand Canyon then off the Four-Points Monument. We'll drive through Kansas to see the site of Brown vs. Board of Education and Saint Louis for a fresh Budweiser. We'll see how Louisville Slugger makes their bats in Louisville, Kentucky then to Morgantown, West Virginia to end the trip with some good company in the land of the mountaineer.

This is only a taste of what we have planned, this trip is full of Breweries, Monuments, Sites, Factory Tours & History. Stay Tuned for all the action!
